You're trying too many things 🟠

I used to post my work everywhere.

Instagram one day. Twitter the next. Dribbble when I remembered. Behance because someone told me I should.

Sporadically. No plan. No purpose. Just throwing work into the void and hoping someone would notice.

Nothing happened.

Not because the work was bad. Not because the platforms were wrong. But because I never stayed anywhere long enough to figure out what actually worked.

I wasn't building anything. I was just posting.

The problem most designers have isn't that they don't know how to get clients. It's that they're trying everything at once and never getting good at anything.

They post on LinkedIn for two weeks. Try cold email for a few days. Dabble in Twitter. Start a YouTube channel. Give up when none of it works immediately.

But none of it works immediately.

You have to commit long enough to learn what works on that specific platform. What gets engagement. What converts. What your audience actually responds to.

I picked Twitter. I stopped splitting my attention. I started paying attention to what landed and what didn't.

And it didn't even take that long.

Once I committed, I figured out what worked for my specific platform. The tone. The format. The topics. The cadence.

Clients started showing up.

Not because Twitter is magic. Because I finally stayed in one place long enough to get good at it.

If you're trying multiple channels right now and none of them are working, the answer isn't to add another one.

It's to pick one and actually own it.

P.S. I help designers land $5k+/month retainer clients by teaching them how to show up consistently on one platform and convert attention into revenue. If you want help figuring out which channel to commit to and how to make it work, reply to this.

👋🏻 Have a good one!
